What is the SAP C_ACT certification?

The SAP Certified Associate – SAP Activate Project Manager (C_ACT) validates your ability to plan, manage, and deliver SAP implementation projects using the SAP Activate methodology.

SAP Activate is SAP's official implementation framework — combining SAP Best Practices (pre-configured business processes), Fit-to-Standard workshops, and Agile/Scrum delivery. The methodology covers six phases: Discover, Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy, and Run.

Passing the C_ACT demonstrates that you can govern SAP projects, facilitate Fit-to-Standard workshops, manage agile sprints within the SAP context, and lead teams through cutover and go-live. It is the go-to certification for SAP project managers, functional consultants moving into PM roles, and implementation partners.

What's changing with the exam format

C_ACT has historically been a proctored 80-question multiple-choice exam (180 minutes, ≈65% passing score). SAP is rolling out a new practical format — see below for what that means and where to confirm the current format for this certification.

SAP's new practical certification format (2026)

SAP is rolling out task-based practical exams for many certifications: open-book, unproctored, performed directly in a live SAP system — with AI tools and documentation allowed. Typical rules include up to 4 attempts per year, a 24-hour gap between attempts, and annual renewal ("Stay Certified") through SAP Learning Hub. Exact rules and rollout timing vary by certification.

Our practice questions train the underlying concepts, configuration logic, and processes you need either way — they are not a reproduction of any specific exam format.

Frequently asked questions

Our practice simulations use a 65% practice passing score. SAP sets and can change the actual cut score — check your exam's official page on learning.sap.com for the current figure. What is SAP Activate and why is it important?

SAP Activate is SAP's official implementation methodology for deploying SAP S/4HANA, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Ariba, and other cloud solutions. It replaces older methodologies (ASAP, SAP Launch). Understanding it is essential for any role in SAP project delivery, from project managers to functional consultants.
